Background:
Seven stray puppies, discovered and rescued from a warehouse at just three months old—one of the "Lucky 7" members: Destiny.
Reason for Adoption:
I have always wanted to have a dog, but I believe that lives should not be bought or sold. When I saw the adoption day at the Animal Rescue Home online, I thought I’d take a chance. Little did I know, I would fall in love at first sight; the first dog I encountered was Destiny.
Feelings After Adoption:
As a first-time dog owner, I had concerns before adopting Destiny, such as not knowing how to care for her, whether she would get along with my family, the potential mess in the house, destructive behavior, and missing out on travel. However, I soon realized these worries were unnecessary.
Every family member has completely fallen for Destiny, treating her like a treasure!
We now get together more often just to see her, which has strengthened our family bonds. With her in our lives, we've also engaged in more outdoor activities and have daily interactions with other dog owners, making us more outgoing and cheerful.
Destiny has a wonderful foster mom, Beatrice, who has taught her well. During times when we were away from Hong Kong, Beatrice temporarily took care of her, providing her with companionship from other dogs, which made her very happy.
The Animal Rescue Home also has a WhatsApp group for adopters and volunteer support, creating a platform for us to connect and making it easy for us new dog owners.
