On December 9, 2023 the Animal Shelter held an adoption day at Fairview Park. Although we had already successfully adopted a dog through an independent volunteer, my husband and I had never attended an adoption day, so we decided to check it out. Upon arriving, we saw many adorable furry friends. Among them, one little pup stood out, wearing a small bowtie and looking adorably clueless inside the enclosure. Through the volunteers, we learned that this cute pup, named "Little Shin," was rescued from the landfill zone.
We spent only about 15 to 30 minutes interacting with Little Shin, but it felt like we had known him for a long time. After discussing it, my husband and I decided to apply for adoption. Fortunately, we successfully adopted Little Shin.
Post-Adoption Feelings:
Little Shin officially became part of our family on December 30. Initially, he needed to adjust to his new environment and to living in a multi-pet household (we already had four cats and one dog), which was a challenge for the four-month-old Little Shin. Luckily, he is a lively, friendly pup who adapted quickly.
Many thanks to the two wonderful individuals who helped care for Little Shin in his foster home. We appreciate how well you taught him to listen to commands and get along with other pets. Now, we see our furry family members interacting in different ways every day. Although they sometimes playfully tussle and get into mischief, it brings us joy to see them happy and healthy. 🥰
There are still many furry friends in the landfill zone waiting for rescue. Please support adoption instead of purchase!
